Coalville by the Sea 2010
Friday 13th August at Coalville's Marlborough Square.
On Friday 13th August, Coalville was transformed into a beach with giant sandpits, deckchairs for Mums and Dads and buckets and spades for the children to
play with. Still with the weather, crowds of familys turned out for the event to make it a great day at the sea side. Hermitage FM entertained with its very own
Mobile Studio.
Hermitage FM started broadcasting on 14 November 2009 across the district on 99.2 FM.
The station is a not-for-profit organisation broadcasting a range of shows targeted at all age groups and is run and staffed by volunteers. The main studio is in Coalville above the 99.2 FM Coffee Lounge located on Hotel Street, also run and staffed by volunteers. A satellite studio is based in Ashby and plans for a further studio in Ibstock are being made.
New volunteers are always welcome both on air and in a support role or even helping in the coffee shop. Hermitage FM provides full training together with a warm friendly atmosphere. We also support the ‘V Inspired’ project which is the government initiative that en encourages under 25s to gain valuable work experience and life skill through volunteering. Through this scheme, volunteers can gain certificates when they achieve 50 hours of voluntary work
